This is my setup!

Take ideas, but make yours personal!
Other Areas

Other pieces of equipment in my room include a Sky box, Xbox One/360, D-Link NAS drive, an amp, and my Brother printer, all of which are kept hidden in the bottom of my wardrobe. I also have a Samsung 32inch Smart TV by my bed with some smart Logitech speakers so I can enjoy watching YouTube videos or anything on Sky when im in bed! As well as my desk being carbon fibre wrapped, my poster frames and the top to one of my side tables are also wrapped so the theme is consistent through the room.

Overall Look

My setup is extremely personal. The desk is custom built by myself using reclaimed wood and a board of MDF. The frame got a coat of gloss white paint while the top is wrapped in crabon fibre vinyl to create contrast. On my desk, I have three asus moniors as well as my peripherals which I'll talk about later. The desk is extremely sturdy which is exactly what i wanted after two years of a wobbly IKEA desk.

So, I dont know about you but I can not stand cables. In my mind cables can make or break a setups appearence, and you can do it for no cost what so ever! Using cable ties, velceo straps or if you're on a really tight budget even tape can be used to hold away and organise all those cables to make things more accessable and improve the safety for you and any other family member that could get to those wires.

Some ikea desks come with a hidded shelf underneath at the back specifically to hold wires, If not, you could always buy a Signum which is a handy product IKEA sell. My desk was NOT easy to cable manage, however I found a way. I have a 9 socket extension on the back powering everything, as well as HDMI splitter and USB audio device for my rig. All of the cables are tied with cable ties to metal brackets that are screwed to the back of my desk. I call them anchors because they stop everything from being able to move!

Elsewhere in my room cables are running under the floor from the equipment that's in my wardrobe. My Xbox's as well as the Sky box are able to be used on my 49", 32" 27" and 23" displays which allows me to be able to do whatever I need to anywhere in the room.

My Machine

Onto the subject of the rig that keeps me going. I recently rebuilt this after previously having a friend do it for me before I had the knowledge to do it myself. Specs:

- NZXT S340 (White)

- Intel Quad-Core i7 4770k

- Gigabyte ga-z87x-ud3h

- 32gb RAM (no known brand)

- Corsair H110i

- EVGA GTX 760

- Kingston & Sandisk 120gb SSD

- 1TB WD Blue

My rig can dual boot OS X Yosemite and Windows 7 as I find each one useful for different tasks, and although it may not be the most powerful machine out there, it does everything I have asked of it. I also have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro which 16gb of RAM and a 500gb Samsung 840 Evo which serves me very nicely indeed.
