Aukey LT-SL1 - Slick and Sleek Security?

This security light is somewhat different from a lot of others for a few reasons, it's appealing slick looks and convenient setup makes it one hell of a product to consider when looking to make your home feel safer, as I shall now explain.

Once upon a time, before solar panels and LED bulbs had been made a household favourite, you had to wire up every single security light on your property to a ring main. Now however we have solar panels and LED bulbs all over the place, but are they better than doing things the old fashioned way? Lets have a comparison.

The LT-SL1 is incredibly easy to install, you simply drill two holes 12cm apart to accommodate the provided wall plugs and screws, insert the wall plugs in the holes, the screws into the wall plugs and hook the light on. From there on out the sun charges the battery, and the LED bulbs sip power from that battery. No wires, nothing to do externally to the unit, easy as pie.

Older, tradition units needed wires threaded from wherever the ring main you want to power the light from is in/on your property. All the way through beams, under floor boards, up/down walls, and sometimes even under ground to get power to the light. Then theres the cost of the electricity of running this older traditional bulb, which is more than the LS-SL1 because as I said, it uses the sun.

The build quality of this unit is very good and will last for years to come above my kitchen window, the light is apparently meant to last 5 hours of continual use after a full charge, which is plenty when you consider how long the bulb will actually be running which is however long someone is stood waving their arms around at it for, so unless you live in an area with some strange people, you should be fine.

The unit has three modes. Mode A) Dim light when no motion, bright light when motioned sensed. Mode B) No light when no motion, bright light when motion sensed. Mode C) Light on. These make the unit extremely versatile to all sorts of uses. The units dimensions of the unit are 210x100x100mm.

I highly recommend this system purely for its ease of setup and the satisfaction you get once you know that another area of your house is lit like a christmas tree whenever someone steps near it thanks to its amazing motion sensor.
